SOFRATEST provides Ultrasonic inspection solutions for the off-line weld inspection of SAW pipes, outside the production line.

• Internal/External longitudinal and transverse defects detection in the weld (several configurations of probe arrangement are available : I, K, X)
• Lamination defects detection in the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ), in the pipe body and in the ends of the pipe

The design of the SOFRATEST inspection heads adapts perfectly to the different curves and diameters of the pipes.

A dynamic calibration can be performed: a standard tube is positioned below the head to allow all settings to be made.

A laser tracking system is available on the Ultrasonic head to follow the weld and enable the probes to adjust their positions themselves.

Phased Array sensors can be seamlessly integrated into the SOFRATEST system.

Customization of the test heads is also possible to allow inspection of the pipe ends.

SOFRATEST can provide probe holders that oscillate between two welding zones to inspect the pipe body and the edges.
