Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)

SOFRATEST offers Ultrasonic systems for the inspection of SAW pipes.

The Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) manufacturing process refers to a welding process with added material, either spiral (SSAW) or longitudinal (LSAW).

In the SSAW method, the strip is rolled at a specific angle and welded both to the inside and outside of the pipe in a helical position.

In the LSAW method, the strip is rolled and welded longitudinally in a single seam on the outside surface.
