On-Line Weld Inspection of ERW Pipe

INSPECTION FEATURES

SOFRATEST provides Ultrasonic inspection solutions for on-line weld inspection of ERW pipes, directly on the production line. Various types of defects are detected, including:

  • Internal/External longitudinal and transverse defects in the weld (several configurations of probe arrangement are available : I, K, X)
  • Lamination defects in the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) of the weld
  • Different kind of defects in the middle of the weld

 

To ensure the proper functionning of the system, the loss of coupling is also detected.

The design of SOFRATEST inspection heads adapts perfectly to the different diameters of the pipes.

When necessary, the inspection head can slid to an off-line position to perform a calibration on a standard pipe.

Phased Array sensors can be seamlessly integrated into the SOFRATEST system.

The inspection system can automatically adjust itself in case of deviation of the area to be inspected from the inspection head thanks to the presence of a pilot line tracking system.

Our equipment is adaptable based on the diameter, thickness, and length of the pipe and can be customized to meet customer needs.

With our robust and user-friendly software, the results of the Ultrasonic inspection are displayed in real-time.

Traceability is ensured by our production software, creating comprehensive and customizable inspection reports.

The system screen is remotely accessible, providing a clear, global view of the ongoing inspection and allowing necessary adjustments to be made in real-time.
